Bob Hope Show 〜Thanks for the Memory

April 06.2016

There was a feature on the television program of this era.

In the 1950s, television shows depended on a single sponsor.

Bob Hope show was the sole sponsor of Chrysler.

Dinah Shore show was the sole sponsor of Chevrolet.

Many sponsors did significant business in markets that were segregated.

‘Thanks for the Memory’ is a popular song, with music composed by Ralph Rainger and lyrics by Leo Robin.

This song was introduced by Bob Hope and Shirley for the film ‘The Big Broadcast of 1938’ and has been widely regarded as Hope’s signature tune.

I guess the definitive version of this song is Mildred Baily’s singing.
