Recently I purchased rare jazz records.
The leader’s name of this record is Elliot Lawrence.
He was born February 14, 1925 in Philadelphia.
Fortunately he is alive and still healthy.
His recordings had superb swing and sensitivity, especially on Gerry Mulligan’s arrangements.
Also In early ’50s he adopted terrific arrangements by Johnny Mandel, Al Cohn and Tiny Kahn.
In Japan, his orchestra was famous with Gerry Mulligan’s arrangements.
This work has also been re-released several times in the past .
But I think his achievements should be evaluated more in Japan.
