This week I want to post about the first recording of Stan Getz and Allen Eager.
I own their first recordings in Japanese LP record.
Last year Mosaic Records has assembled all of Savoy’s bebop sessions in a new box.
After Charlie Parker left for Los Angeles in 1945,Producer Teddy Reig found many new stars for Savoy Records.
Because Parker was recording mostly for Dial until mid-1947.
Teddy’s ears were amazing, especially for the new sound of bop that was coming out of the clubs in New York.
Teddy Reig produced their first sessions led by Dexter Gordon, Kai Winding, Allen Eager, J.J. Johnson, Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt and Kenny Dorham, Ray Brown, Fats Navarro, Ray Brown, Serge Chaloff, and Brew Moore.
