特集は「ジャズスタンダード名曲集~ジョージ・ガーシュウィン」でした。

例会には小生含め8人の会員がお気に入りの演奏を紹介しました。

本日は西明石から毎回参加されている2人のお気に入りをご紹介します。

3.「They Can’t Take That Away From Me」

F川氏お気に入りのジャネット・サイデル(Janet Seidel)による歌唱です。
本ブログ作成日「5月28日」はジャネット・サイデルの誕生日です。(1955年生まれ)

2017年8月7日、シドニーの病院で逝去されました。享年62歳。
初来日(2000年)から彼女をよく知っているF川さんが語る「仮題：ジャネット・サイデル想い出話」をお願いしておきます。

ジャネット・サイデルは2016年末からジョージ・ガーシュウィンのトリビュート・コンサートを開始しておりました。ニュー・アルバム(ジョージ・ガーシュウィン曲集と想像します)は幻の作品となりました。

Gene Norman produced Charlie Ventura’s “Bop for the People” concert in Pasadena, Calif., in May 1949.

This work was one of the most significant and electrifying bop band performances of the late 1940s.

He continued to put on big concerts, and produced a series of live albums and studio recordings based around his promotions.

Today I want to write a little about Charlie Ventura and Jackie Cain and Roy Kral.

When Gene Krupa reformed his band in June 1944 Krupa recruited Charlie Ventura.

In 1948 Charlie Ventura organised the small band.

His band was associated with “Bop For The People.”

Jackie Cain and Roy Kral were singing with Charlie Ventura band in 1948 and 1949.

The Pasadena Concert actually was their last concert with the band.

Jackie Cain and Roy Kral left from Charlie Ventura’s band.

The Ventura band was pretty popular in the 1950s.
